Youth Serving Our Seniors – Intergenerational Bridges Project
Reflecting on the Past (2021) Planning for the Future (2022)
We thank God for the youth who participated inthe Awana Friday Night LIVE on Zoom and gathered in person for the 6-Weeks Summer Youth Leadership Initiative, to get prepared to SERVE SENIORS! They worked diligently coordinating a Praise Dance, a Song, and a Violin Presentation. They all prepared Words of Encouragement to read to the Seniors! They did an awesome job of ministering at Fairfax Place At Home for Seniors. We were privileged of God to be the 1st group to go into the facility since the pandemic! I concluded our program by sharing the Good News of the Gospel, revealing to the seniors how much God loved them. Three Seniors accepted Christ as their Lord & Savior! The youth asked each of the Seniors for their prayer requests, wrote them out and prayed for them! To God Be The Glory!
McGregor PACE was not open for volunteers to come in. However, they asked if we could schedule a ZOOM Program for the Seniors in 3 of their Centers! We ZOOMED into the 3 centers from the Ministry House! The youth ministered in the same ways that they did in person at Fairfax Place At Home!
Fairfax Place At Home and McGregor PACE have asked if the students can minister to their seniors again! The Young Servant Leaders are excited about the opportunity to continue to serve the seniors in 2022!
We truly thank God for the parents: Lewis Burrell assisted with the sound equipment at the Ministry House! Pastor David Stevens, my son-in-law assisted setting up the sound, ordering the needed lighting and more! Linda Burrell ordered and organized all the uniforms! We thank God also for all the parents: who transported their children, assisted with photography and videography at the Ministry House and Fairfax Place At Home! This Outreach was a huge task, but the Lord enabled us to labor together and get it all done! The Ministry of Reconciliation is truly grateful to the Lord for the opportunity to labor together with parents to help Raise Up Young Servant Leaders!
ACTION – YOU CAN HELP!
· Become a Volunteer Mentor/Discipler for Young Servant Leaders, to help equip and empower them to serve.
· Volunteer to assist in Nursing Homes, Senior Assisted Living and/or to help with setting up our Senior Programs on Zoom.
· Share a Donation to help with our Year-End Fundraising Campaign Matching Grant – Whatever you give will be doubled and greatly appreciated!
